I found myself writing the below email to Her Interactive last week, because I was rather bummed that the new Nancy Drew: Silent Spy game wasn’t available on Steam and still isn’t. I understand they have their own online storefront but I have an absurd number of Nancy Drew games via Steam. I’d assume that having it available on Steam would mean reaching a more broad audience. I know Steam asks for a piece of the pie but I’m curious as to how much? Because of NDAs I don’t know the answer to that question but in true gamer fashion, I’m impatient. *wink*
Please resign all judgement, I like playing Nancy Drew games, deal with it. I know it has a lot to do with the fact that I loved to read Nancy Drew books as a kid and I really enjoy mysteries in all forms of media.
To Whom It May Concern:
When will the new Nancy Drew: Silent Spy game be available on Steam? Is there a reason that it wasn’t released on Steam when the game was released? I love playing your games and I also like that I can have a list of the games I own via Steam. Thank you for your time.
And here was the response, and you better believe I’ll be contacting Steam.
Thanks for your interest in our latest game! Unfortunately, Steam has made the decision to no longer offer the latest Nancy Drew games. Please let Steam know that you are upset by this decision by contacting their Customer Support or by calling 425-889-9642. If enough fans make their voice heard, hopefully Steam will reverse their decision and allow their fans to enjoy Nancy Drew games. Alternatively, if you would like to download and play The Silent Spy immediately, we do offer the PC & Mac versions on our website here:
